Longtime collaborators and Carnegie Mellon MFA Writing alums Brandy N. Carie & D.T. Burns bring you Austen like you’ve never seen her before!

Centering found materials and repurposed objects, our project ABRUPTLY, AUSTEN will communicate big ideas in concise ways, ultimately producing eight finished puppet videos covering Austen’s complete oeuvre in a fun, digestible format (that is essentially accurate in all major plot points). Scripts by Carie, puppets by Burns, and performances by both artists.

Brandy is an award-winning playwright and screenwriter whose woman-centered work has been supported by the Sloan Foundation, Kennedy Center, SPACE on Ryder Farm, and Actors Theatre of Louisville. More About Brandy.
